In his long-anticipated speech on climate change, President Obama addressed his pending decision on the Keystone XL pipeline, stating that "[t]he net effects of the pipeline’s impact on our climate will be absolutely critical to determining whether this project is allowed to go forward."  Despite his comments on the issue, his position on the pipeline remains unclear with advocates on both sides of the debate citing to this speech as evidence that he is likely deny or approve based on their respective positions.
