The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) filed suit against the City of Longmont challenging an ordinance the City passed that would impose restrictions on spacing and locating oil and gas operations within the City.  The COGCC argues the ordinance interferes with its own regulations; and therefore, state law preempts the City’s ordinance.
