Gov. John Hickenlooper has announced that Jeff Ackermann will be the next director of the Colorado Energy Office.  Director Ackermann had been serving as the Colorado Public Utilities Commission Section Chief on Research and Emerging Issues prior to the appointment.  The Colorado Energy Office has a mission to sustain and promote Colorado's energy economy while promoting efficiency, lowering consumer costs, and protecting the environment.  In recent months, the Colorado Energy Office has faced scrutiny over its spending and programs, resulting in greater oversight and budget cuts from the state legislature.
