The United States Geological Survey (USGS)’s first estimate of the Utica Shale’s natural gas potential finds as much as 38 trillion cubic feet of undiscovered technically recoverable gas. Additionally, the USGS reports that the Utica could hold as much as 940 million barrels of oil.
